Spotlight on Braxton Parks’ Breakout Freshman Season: A Rising Star
Thomas Jefferson High School freshman, Braxton Parks, has been making waves in his debut varsity season. In just five games, Parks has emerged as a key player, racking up 334 receiving yards on 25 catches and scoring two touchdowns. His versatility is further highlighted by two 2-point conversions, showcasing his ability to deliver under pressure.
Parks credits much of his early success to his time playing for NEBRASKA SELECT 7EVEN, a 7v7 football program. Darren Petersen, NEBRASKA SELECT’s director, praised Braxton as one of the most talented freshman players to come through their program. Parks attributes his development and preparedness for high school football to the skills he honed in the 7v7 format, which helped him sharpen his abilities as both a wide receiver and a defensive back.
Currently, Braxton is listed as the third leading receiver in the state according to MaxPreps, averaging an impressive 84 yards per game. With ambitious goals to break his school’s receiving records and climb the national rankings, Parks is aiming to elevate his game and ultimately become a Division 1 Power 4 receiver.
NEBRASKA SELECT eagerly anticipates Braxton’s return to the field this spring, ready to continue supporting his incredible journey.
Stay tuned to see how this rising star continues to make an impact in the world of football!
